Vaginal Rejuvenation with ThermiVa® in Seattle, WA

“2016 ThermiRF® Winner for “Best Use of Technology”

I highly appreciate a great professionalism and kind attitude of Doctor Dieter Schmidt and his Team. – VITALY L.

North Sound Dermatology Aesthetics was the first practice in the state to offer ThermiVa®, a ground breaking, non-surgical approach to feminine rejuvenation. Serving areas of Seattle, Everett and surrounding areas, we are pleased to offer patients ThermiVa® treatments.

We were one of the first practices in the state to use ThermiTight®, a non-surgical way to tighten lax skin under the chin and along the jawline and neck. Recently, a new hand piece called ThermiVa® was developed for this device which can be used to address issues that typically develop after childbirth and with aging, including a leaky bladder, vaginal dryness, laxity of the labia, vulva and vagina, as well as decreased sexual satisfaction, pain with sexual intercourse and atrophic vaginitis.

Until now, anyone suffering from a leaky bladder, especially when coughing or exercising, has needed surgery to correct the issue. This is done under general anesthesia and is not without significant risk and downtime, not to mention scarring and pain. The other issues mentioned above are typically also treated with either surgery or topical estrogen creams.

Vaginal Rejuvenation Benefits of Using ThermiVa®

  • Leaky bladder (stress urinary incontinence) of mild to moderate severity
  • Vaginal dryness
  • Inner tissue (vaginal) laxity
  • Outer tissue (labial and vulvar) laxity
  • Atrophic vaginitis
  • Certain sexual dysfunctions, including a decrease in sensitivity or orgasmic issues

The treatment is comfortable and quick, with no downtime. In fact, many women have a ThermiVa® treatments during their lunch hour, and immediately return to work afterwards.

Most patients achieve optimal results after three sessions, spaced about four weeks apart. Most women report increased vaginal tightness, improvement of their leaky bladder, enhanced sensation during sex, and other improvements, after just one or two treatments.

Many women hesitate to seek treatment for feminine concerns because they are embarrassed by their condition. At North Sound Dermatology Aesthetics, you will never have to worry about the professionalism or compassion of not only your provider, but also every member of our team. Feminine rejuvenation is something to be celebrated, not something to be afraid of.

How does ThermiVa® work?

A hand-held applicator is used to deliver energy to the target area, resulting in tightening of tissue. ThermiVa® is born of the same safe and effective technology that powers tried-and-true procedures such as ThermiTight® and ThermiSmooth®. It may be used to treat the vagina, labia, or both. The process is gentle and painless, as the applicator tip is specifically designed with natural curves.

Am I a good candidate for ThermiVa®?

We will need to perform an evaluation before determining if ThermiVa® would be beneficial in your specific situation. However, it is generally a good option for any woman with concerns about:

  • Mild to moderate “leaky bladder” (stress incontinence)
  • Vaginal dryness
  • Atrophic vaginitis due to menopause
  • Laxity of the vaginal, labial, or vulvar tissues
  • Certain orgasmic or sexual dysfunctions

Does ThermiVa® treatment hurt?

No, most patients describe the process as very comfortable. Constant monitoring of tissue temperature and instant, precise adjustments, allow the provider to achieve the optimal results without discomfort.

How many ThermiVa® treatments are needed?

We will need to perform an evaluation before recommending a specific procedure or treatment schedule. However, most women see optimal vaginal and labial tightening after three treatment sessions approximately one month apart. Each actual treatment session takes approximately 30 minutes.

Does ThermiVa® help with urinary incontinence?

Yes, ThermiVa® treatments can help improve stress incontinence, urinary leakage and over-active bladder symptoms. Be sure to discuss this concern during your consultation.

How much recovery time should I expect?

There is no downtime, and essentially no recovery time. It is a non-invasive procedure with no discharge, odor, or other unpleasant side effects. You will be able to resume normal activities immediately after treatment.

Is ThermiVa® a type of laser treatment?

No, it works using radiofrequency energy, which is quite different from lasers. ThermiVa® does not remove or destroy any tissue, it simply stimulates processes within your own body that firm and tighten tissue.

Is ThermiVa® treatment safe?

Although this treatment is rather new, it has been used extensively in clinical settings with excellent results. Additionally, it is based on the same technology and techniques as ThermiTight®, which has a long history and excellent record of safety.

How long after ThermiVa® until I see results?

You may begin noticing improvement after one or two treatments. Full results typically develop after the third session.
