Laser treatments for skin rejuvenation in the Mill Creek area
The science behind cosmetic dermatology and, especially cosmetic skin rejuvenation laser treatments, has evolved enormously over the past few years. With the technologies available today, we have seen a remarkable growth in the services that we can now provide, helping our patients look and feel their best.
Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) energy and our skin:
The development of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) and laser therapies has rapidly progressed in dermatology over the past several years. In our Mill Creek office, we are able to provide these treatments to address a number of different skin concerns, detailed below.
Laser treatments basically involve the delivery of laser light/energy to the skin. This laser energy is absorbed by different types of skin cells. The degree to which these cells are affected and their response to the laser energy varies dramatically, based on the way in which the energy is delivered, as well as its intensity, the duration of exposure, the wavelength, and other factors.
Due to these many variables, laser and IPL are highly versatile. Using our Palomar Icon fractional laser, we are able to effectively treat a wide variety of skin concerns, including wrinkles and fine lines, acne scars, surgical scars and stretch marks. The training and experience of Dr. Schmidt and his Master Medical Aesthetician, Elizabeth Hagen, LCA, results in safe and predictable outcomes, as they successfully address specific skin concerns through the precise delivery of laser and IPL energies.
Whether performing fractional laser treatments or IPL, patient safety and comfort is our number one priority.
IPL treatments for rejuvenated skin:
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is different to laser light in that it is made up of multiple wavelengths, which makes it very versatile. It is a safe and effective treatment for red blood vessels on the face, neck and chest caused by rosacea, or the sun. It is also an excellent treatment for sun spots (age spots/liver spots) on the face, neck, chest, as well as the arms and legs. We also use IPL very successfully for permanent hair removal. It has also been shown to improve skin texture and pore size.
North Sound Dermatology Aesthetics serves as a national training center for the Palomar Icon IPL system, as well as the Palomar Icon fractional laser that we use. Our Master Medical Aesthetician, Elizabeth Hagen, LCA, is a national trainer on these systems and has trained many plastic surgeons and dermatologists on these technologies.
When you are ready to rejuvenate your skin with laser or IPL light-based treatments, North Sound Dermatology Aesthetics has the technology, training and experience you need.
